Essential Qualifying Requirements for MDL Non-Executive Recruitment 2024

1.AC. Ref. Mechanic Skilled Gr– I

    • National Apprenticeship Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or similar.

    2.Chipper Grinder Skilled Gr– I

      • National Apprenticeship Certificate and one year of shipbuilding experience.

      3.Compressor Attendant Skilled Gr– I

        • National Apprenticeship Certificate in Millwright Mechanic or similar, with one year of shipbuilding experience.

        4.Diesel Cum Motor Mechanic Skilled Gr– I

          • National Apprenticeship Certificate in Diesel Mechanic or Motor Vehicle Mechanic.

          5.Driver Skilled Gr– I

            • SSC with National Apprenticeship Certificate in “Driver cum Fitter” or equivalent military service with valid driving license.

            6.Electric Crane Operator Skilled Gr– I

              • National Apprenticeship Certificate in Electrician and one year of shipbuilding experience.

              7.Electrician Skilled Gr– I

                    • National Apprenticeship Certificate in Pipe Fitter or related trade with one year of shipbuilding experience.

                    18.Rigger Skilled Gr– I

                    • National Apprenticeship Certificate in Rigger; Trainee Rigger for those without required qualification.

                    19.Store Keeper Skilled Gr– I

                    • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related fields, with preferred additional qualification in Material Management.

                    20.Structural Fabricator Skilled Gr– I

                    • National Apprenticeship Certificate in Structural Fabricator or similar with one year of shipbuilding experience.

                    21.Fire Fighter Semi-Skilled–I

                    • SSC with a six-month Fire Fighting Diploma and a Heavy Duty Vehicle License.

                    22.Sail Maker Semi-Skilled–I

                    • ITI/NAC in related fields like Cutting & Sewing.

                    23.Security Sepoy Semi-Skilled–I

                    • SSC or equivalent with military service experience, preferably with a commercial driving license.

                    24.Utility Hand (Semi-Skilled) Semi-Skilled–I

                    • National Apprenticeship Certificate and one year of shipbuilding experience.

                    25.Master 1st Class Special Grade (ID-IX)

                    • Certificate of competency (I class Master) and three years of operating tugs or 15 years of naval service with relevant certification.

                    Age Limit and Relaxation for MDL Recruitment 2024

                    • General Age Limit: 18 to 38 years as of September 1, 2024. For Master 1st Class, maximum age is 48 years.
                    • Age Relaxation:
                    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
                    • SC/ST: 5 years
                    • Persons with Disabilities (40%+): 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC/ST
                    • Ex-Trade Apprentices of MDL: Relaxation equal to their apprenticeship period
                    • Ex-Employees on Fixed Term Contract with MDL: Relaxation equal to tenure as Fixed Term Employee plus standard relaxations
                    • Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation for service period plus 3 years
                    • Note: Candidates must have at least 3 years of service left before the retirement age of 60.

                    Emoluments for MDL Recruitment 2024

                    • Special Grade (IDA-IX): ₹22,000 – ₹83,180
                    • Skilled Grade-I (IDA-V): ₹17,000 – ₹64,360
                    • Semi-Skilled Gr-I (IDA-II): ₹13,200 – ₹49,910

                    In addition to basic pay, employees will receive industrial DA, HRA, CPF, and other allowances. Annual increments are subject to company rules. Medical benefits are provided under the ESIC Act or the company’s medical scheme, depending on wage levels.

                    3. Register: Fill in your details and click “Submit.” Verify your registration via the email link.
                    4. Log In: Access the MDL Online Portal with your Username and Password.
                    5. Select Job and Check Eligibility: Choose the job under the Non-Executive Tab and review the eligibility criteria.
                    6. Prepare Documents: Have a recent passport-sized photo and your signature ready.
                    7. Fill Application Form: Complete the form, entering ‘NA’ where applicable. Review and correct any errors before submission.
                    8. Payment: General/OBC/EWS candidates must pay ₹354 (including GST). SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen are exempt. Refer to Para-17 for payment instructions.
                    9. Submit and Confirm: Ensure your application status shows “Successfully Submitted” on the “Home” tab.
                    10. Print: Print your application form with the unique registration number by the deadline. Hard copies are not required.
