Educational Qualifications for Assistant Manager Positions

1. Actuarial (5 posts)

  • Qualification: Graduation with 60% marks and 7 papers passed of IAI (2019 curriculum).

2. Finance (5 posts)

  • Qualification: Graduation with 60% marks and ACA/AICWA/ACMA/ACS/CFA.

3. Law (5 posts)

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 60% marks.

4. IT (5 posts)

  • Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/IT/Computer Science) with 60% marks, or
  • Master’s in Computer Applications with 60% marks, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with a 2-year post-graduate qualification in Computers/IT with 60% marks.

5. Research (5 posts)

  • Qualification: Master’s Degree or 2-year Post Graduate Diploma in Economics/Statistics/related fields with 60% marks.

6. Generalist (24 posts)

  • Qualification: Graduation with 60% marks.

Additional Notes:

  • Computer Knowledge: Candidates must be proficient in computer operations.
  • Recognition: Qualifications must be from a recognized institution.
  • Multiple Applications: Separate applications are needed for each stream; only the latest application will be considered if applying for multiple streams.
  • Relaxation: SC/ST candidates have a 5% mark relaxation in the Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Grade Conversion: CGPA/OGPA out of a scale other than 10 will be converted to a 10-point scale.

Age Limit and Relaxation

Age Limit (as of 20.09.2024):

  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 30 years
  • Candidates must be born between 21.09.1994 and 20.09.2003 (inclusive).

  • General/UR: 10 years
  • Ex-servicemen and Commissioned Officers: 5 years (with at least 5 years of military service)

Note: Cumulative age relaxation is not available across multiple categories.

Service Conditions and Career Prospects

  • Pay Scale: Starting basic pay of ₹44,500 per month, with a salary range up to ₹89,150 over 17 years, plus allowances. Initial gross emoluments are approximately ₹1,46,000 per month (excluding certain allowances).
  • Pension: Governed by the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
  • Seniority: Determined by the ranking obtained during selection.
  • Probation: 1 year, extendable to a maximum of 2 years.
  • Promotion: Opportunities for advancement to higher grades.
  • Posting: Candidates may be posted in any IRDAI office and are subject to transfers between departments/offices.
